Coffee can lid

I have gotten use to te foil lids on the coffee cans.  They are much easier to open, even if not totally Troyproof.  Folgers had it first, then MJB picked up the foild lid trend.

Why did the MJB can I opened this morning have a old tin lid?  I had to plug in the can opener.  I have been Googling to see if they scrapped the foil lids and why.  No luck.

Or, could it be a very old can of coffee?
